thank you very much!! & i actually thought abt this for a while & idk what i could say that hasnt already been said b4 by others fjgjsgs thats not a knock directed at you at all, its just that, like… idk. simblr is a particular beast and i cant think of anything i could say that would give you an ~edge~ or anything? but i put together some general advice anyway!!

- i put this first bc imo its probably most important (& its smth i struggle w a lot in general, oops) but remind yourself that its a) normal to not hit it big overnight and b) that thats in no way a representation of the quality of your content. im not saying to not want or seek out validation – we all like feeling validated, im saying that if it doesnt happen right away, remind yourself not to be discouraged. it takes time and it will come, eventually
- make an intro post! youve probably seen some around before, ppl making lil edits to go along w posts introducing themselves to the simblr comm & looking for ppl to follow? you could make one of those yourself & put it in the tags (more on those later)
- make stuff you like! im serious! ik its probably super tempting to look at what everyone else is doing & try to emulate that – thats a completely normal impulse – but chances are if whatever that is isnt Your Thing™, youll burn yourself out on it pretty quickly. its hard to feel inspired to do smth when that smth isnt actually a thing you want to do, namsayin? dont be afraid to experiment w gameplay/editing/sim-making styles, youll find one that fits and feels right for you in no time (also if it looks like youre genuinely putting your heart into the content you make, ppl will be drawn to that!!)
- resource blogs are your friends, use em! tumblr has a lot of photoshop/gimp resource blogs floating around (some favorites of mine are: yeahps, itsphotoshop & resourcely) that are a blessing when it comes to editing. they usually have everything from tutorials to templates you can use. also, sssvitlans has tags for other useful photoshop things like actions, psds, etc!!
- tag correctly & effectively! ik a lot of ppl get real testy abt how tumblr tags are used, but theyre a useful way to get your content out there. personally, i tend to rely the “#ts4 #sims 4 #simblr” tags when i tag my posts – i avoid the #ts4mm one specifically bc ik ppl use it to find maxis match cc & not gameplay or w/e but its totally up to you, ofc!! regardless of what anyone says theres no Tumblr Law around tagging, lmao.
- interact with folks. & i dont say that to mean “make friends w popular ppl for exposure!!” i mean genuinely… talk to folks. all folks. “big” or “small” simblrs. interact w their content, whether it be liking their posts or rb’ing them onto an inspo blog or just telling them how nice you think their content is. if they make text posts abt their interests outside of sims, & if you share those interests g’head & reply to them!! be social!! ppl appreciate (genuine) compliments and its a good way to integrate yourself into the community at large instead of just feeling like a one man island
- also, and this might just be a Me Thing, but like. follow ppl first!! & again, i dont just mean ~big simblrs~ – if you see someone whos posts you like, toss em a follow!! theyll appreciate it, i promise. & again, interacting w ppls stuff is a good way to become a part of the community
- on that note, join a discord server if you want! again, its a good way to make friends in the community. they can be kinda intimidating sometimes but once you get comfortable, its nice to be around other ppl & find some like-minded folks
- this one might not be feasible for everyone but lmao im nothing if not honest: if you want to learn/feel inclined to, make some cc. if youre genuinely looking for a way to gain followers fast, the answer would be making & posting cc. it can literally just be recolors – my first cc on this blog were some recolors for male sims & … yeah. clout city. (THEYRE NOT EVEN GOOD I SWEAR) – but as long as theyre decent quality and you throw together a semi-decent preview pictures, the people will come
- and in the spirit of sounding like a corny after-school special, remember to have fun! theres literally nothing more draining than turning your simblr into a lowkey job, lmao. youll start to enjoy it less and eventually the idea of posting will seem like a chore. if it does start to feel like that, take a break. go on hiatus or semi-hiatus or whatever’ll help you to feel better; this is just for funsies, rmbr!!
